WHO: 1048 people killed, 5558 injured in Libya's capital fighting

The World Health Organization said in a brief statement that 1,048 people have been killed since the offensive began, including 106 civilians.

WHO indicated on Tuesday that 5,558 people have been wounded, including 289 civilians.

The figure announced on Friday included at least 53 detained migrants who died in a devastating air attack on a detention centre in the Tripoli suburb of Tajoura on Tuesday night.

Tripoli fighting have since left nearly 1,000 people dead and some 5,000 wounded, WHO said, without specifying the breakdown between civilians and fighters.

Clashes have forced more than 100,000 people to flee their homes, adding to the misery of the ordinary people who are already enduring lack of services and power outages. source
