WASHINGTON, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Donald Trump has spoken over phone with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Libya and the Middle East, said the White House on Monday.
The two leaders on Sunday discussed ongoing regional security matters in the Middle East, Libya and other bilateral issues, according to a statement released by the White House.
The phone call came amid lingering tensions between Washington and Tehran after a possible military escalation was temporarily reversed. source
