Libya's eastern forces blame Sarraj, Turkey for Benghazi bomb attack - Bloomberg

The eastern Libyan forces fighting against the internationally recognised Tripoli government on Thursday said Turkey, terrorists and Prime Minister Fayez Al-Sarraj were directly responsible for deadly blasts in Benghazi, Bloomberg reported.

The three bombings in Libya’s second-largest city left 4 dead and 16 others wounded, Bloomberg said.

Ahmed Al-Mismari, the spokesman for the Libyan National Army (LNA), said in a televised press conference that Sarraj was directly to blame for the incident and drew direct parallels between the Muslim Brotherhood, Al-Qaeda and Islamic State, saying the attack bore the hallmarks of militant movements.

The LNA headed by General Khalifa Haftar launched a military offensive in April to seize the Libyan capital from Serraj's UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA).

Sarraj met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Saturday to discuss bilateral relations between Libya and Turkey.

Ankara backs the Islamist-rooted government in Tripoli, while LNA, which is supported by Turkey’s regional rivals Egypt, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states, accuses Turkey of funding and arming Islamist factions in Libya fighting on the side of the GNA. source
