Egypt, UAE agree on confronting terrorism, achieving stability in MENA region

CAIRO – 3 December 2019: Egypt and the United Arab Emirates agreed on Tuesday on continuing their cooperation to confront terrorism and extremism in the MENA region.During a phone call, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry discussed with his UAE counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan the latest updates in the Middle East, especially in Syria and Libya.According to an official statement issued by Egypt’s Foreign Ministry, the two officials agreed on cooperating to reach political solutions for the crises of the Middle East which meet the Arab peoples' aspirations to live a decent and stable life.Both ministers agreed during their discussions that confronting terrorism and extremism, while refraining from interfering in the Arab countries' internal Affairs are the main goals.Shoukry and Bin Zayed also agreed on intensifying their communication with the international community in the coming period to reach a political solution for the Libyan crisis to achieve peace and stability for the country. source
